Building Capacity, Investing in Women
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) understands that strong women help build strong communities. Strengthening Entrepreneurship and the Economy through Women’s Business Development (SEED) is a program designed to empower women in vulnerable circumstances by strengthening their business acumen and assisting women in building or growing small and micro business enterprises. Approximately 700 beneficiaries have been identified to participate in the various phases of this program, including business grant development, financial literacy training, and business training. In the five years since the Haiti earthquake, UMCOR has made it a priority to invest in community by investing in women.
