Director of Marketing and Communications
James (Jay) Rollins is the Director of Marketing and Communications for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). He is responsible for ensuring that all UMCOR communications reflect the organization’s long-term commitment to development and to relief from natural and human-made disasters.
In addition, Jay works with the Marketing and Communications team to create and develop fund-raising programs for these ministries and to promote One Great Hour of Sharing—a Special Sunday offering in The United Methodist Church which helps cover UMCOR’s overhead expenses. The offering allows 100 percent of all other UMCOR donations to be used for designated UMCOR programs.
Prior to coming to UMCOR in April 2011, Rollins served as the Marketing Manager for the General Board of Global Ministries. During his time there, he helped create and launch such campaigns as 10-Fold (www.10-fold.org) and WITH* (www.ministryWITH.org). The work he and his team did on 10-Fold was recognized by the Religion Communicators Council, which awarded them the 2010 Best of Class award for Best Campaign.
In addition, Jay has received numerous awards from the United Methodist Association of Communicators for his use of new technologies and social media for ministry.
