Advance #3021649

#3021649 - Giving education though Methodist schools to children of Haiti

Annual Goal:$700,000.00
Partner:The Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas, Haiti District Conference

Describe the need affecting the community.

Haiti is a very poor country where schooling is the family's responsibility. The Methodist church of Haiti is doing its best to provide education to over 16,000 students. In some areas, there is no school. The children have to walk miles to find a school. The parents are unemployed and cannot pay for their children's education. Most of the time, they just keep their kids at home without education.

How will this Advance project help to address the need?

We make school available in different areas, we pay teachers salaries, train teachers, and we give pedagogical assistance.

Describe the primary goal of the project.

To give a high quality of education the students attending the Methodist schools.

Describe the change you would like to see in the community as a result of this Advance project.

More motivated and more engaged people in the education process of the children. No more children staying at home without school.
