Background/History

UMCOR has established a field presence in the Philippines by creating an operations and communications office with an on-site storage facility for material goods and relief supplies just outside of Manila. The purpose of UMCOR Philippines is to provide a ministry of presence in the country; serve as a hub to facilitate communication between United Methodist conferences within the Philippines and with the United States; expand UMCOR's reach and impact for emergency relief and disaster response activities in the area through locally procured and readily available on-site material resources, volunteers, and programmatic implementation; and to promote additional projects in support of the GBGM and UMCOR mission goals and focus areas.
